If there is one organic ingredient I think is super-stellar for natural hair, it’s shea butter. Shea butter doesn’t clog pores or leave an oily residue, it repairs/protects from weather damage and extreme dryness and provides moisture from root to tip. If some oils are too light for your ends, but too heavy for your roots–shea butter is definitely your best bet.

Look for 100 percent natural shea butter, and warm it in a pan set over boiling water. Let it cool for a bit, then massage it into your scalp and leave it in your hair for 30 minutes or more. Do this at least once a week and you may quickly see a transformation in your hair — from being damaged, dull, itchy, and lifeless to looking healthy, shiny, and silky!

Shea butter is a powerful tool to keep in your roster. It is like cocoa butter for your skin! It is amazing how we can soak up and use the best that nature has to offer. Our body and hair is perfect for nature’s organic solutions.  I personally love shea butter in everything from hand wash, body wash to shampoos and hair butters. I generally buy a $10 bottle at the health food store, and it’s definitely one of my favourite products to use on dry elbows, cracked lips and my hair!
